Does My Horse Need Bodywork?
I believe every horse can benefit from bodywork.
Let’s face it, it’s not always easy being a horse in a human world. We ask a lot of our equine partners. Whether your horse is a faithful trail companion, champion barrel racer, or an Olympic-level jumper, accumulated tension in your horse’s body can cause muscular imbalances, increased stress on tendons and ligaments, reduced range of motion, and of course pain.
Relieving this tension helps restore balance and fosters a more natural state of movement, as well as regulating your horse’s nervous system.
What is The Masterson Method?
Developed in 2005, the Masterson Method is a unique form of equine bodywork that uses the nervous system to relieve tension in key junctions of the body most important for performance.
In contrast to other modalities, this method enables the horse to actively participate in the process of releasing tension. It works WITH the horse, not ON the horse, by staying below his or her natural fight or flight response, allowing the horse to release tension in deep core and postural muscles.
When deep tension is released and the muscles controlling major joints of the body can fully relax and contract, range of motion is restored in the major joints.
